THE FIRST FOUR CHILDREN

La Finca began with four babies; Manuel, Lidia, Johnny, and Tony were all abandoned, or their mothers had died. A little rented unit in a very rough part of Tegucigalpa became home.

ONGOING GROWTH

Although many children of all ages are constantly being brought to the Home, we are only able to prayerfully accept the most needy. Current numbers average between 75 and 90, which enables our dedicated staff to give quality care.

FRIENDS OF LA FINCA

This is made possible by the love, prayers, contributions, and voluntary service of God's people, as He touches hearts, enables them to support and become friends of this caring ministry.

EDUCATION

Basic academic skills begin in our own kindergarten classes. The children then continue studying in grades 1-6 in our Christian elementary school. Following graduation from elementary school, their education generally continues at the village "colegio" where the combined study of academic and trade/technical subjects prepare them for a career. Some of our young people pursue technical school, bible school, military and/or university.

At La Finca the older children are also trained in life skills such as childcare, food preparation, household duties, and agriculture. At harvest time, they enjoy the "fruits of their labor."

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Teaching God's word is a vital part of life at La Finca through regular Bible classes, memorization, music, and daily application. Hearing the gospel, it is our prayer that the older children soon accept Christ as Savior and begin to pray and rely on God for their daily needs, the needs of the Home or for one of their loved ones who is sick or injured. Often the children give testimony to God's amazing answers to their prayers.

The children’s lives are a living witness of God’s redemptive power!
