![]() Marta and Josue’s sparkling eyes and contented smiles reveal the happiness found in an atmosphere of God’s love at La Finca; the only home they’ve ever known. Marta was only six months old and suffering from severe malnutrition she came in 1989. Josue was a helpless seven-day-old infant when brought to the home in 1998. His mother was dying of AIDS. He is a healthy boy. THE FIRST FOUR CHILDREN
Manuel, Lidia, Johnny and Tony were babies who had been abandoned or whose mothers had died. As the work grew with more children being added, the Lord provided a new home on a farm of approximately one hundred acres in a beautiful mountain valley. As the family of four grew to well over one hundred and fifty, several basic buildings were added. (Although many children of all ages are constantly being brought to the Home, we are only able to prayerfully accept the most needy.) Current numbers average between eighty and one hundred, enabling our dedicated staff to give quality care. This is made possible by the love, prayers, contributions and voluntary service of God’s people, as he enables them to support and become friends of this caring ministry. Keenly aware that each child in our family needs ministry to body, soul and spirit to become a healthy person, we endeavor to provide: Loving care in a health Christian environment, including a nourishing diet, basic shelter, clean clothing and education. Basic academic skills begin in our own kindergarten classes. The children attend grades one through six at a Christian school in the community. Following graduation from elementary school, their education generally continues at the village “Colegio” where the combined study of academic and trade/technical subjects prepare them for a career. Some go on to special schools or university. The older children are also trained in practical skills such as childcare, food preparation, household duties and agriculture. At harvest time they enjoy the “fruit of their labors.” “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments.” Psalm 111:10 Teaching God’s word is a vital part of life at La Finca through regular Bible classes, memorization, music and daily application. Hearing the gospel, the older children soon accept Christ as Savior and begin to pray and believe God for their daily needs, the needs of the Home, or for one of their number who is sick or injured. The have given testimony to God’s amazing answers to their prayers. Since 1969 hundred of children at La Finca de Los Ninos have been rescued from destitution, depravity and even death, through God’s miraculous provision. Thank you, dear friends, for being part of His miracle of love. Adequately caring for a family of this size – supplying food, clothing, housing and training is a monumental task. You can be a channel of God’s love and compassion to these needy children by: becoming faithful prayer partners, contributors and/or by giving voluntary service as God leads. … by faithfully praying for a particular child and contributing financially toward his or her monthly support. (Request further information.) Contributions toward the Education Fund help to provide the means for the children’s education. The many buildings of La Finca are in constant need of repair. The expenses are great. In fact, some of our buildings have been condemned and are no longer habitable. A building project has been proposed to provide adequate, family-style housing for the children and caretakers. Prayers, contributions and volunteer builders are greatly needed and appreciated.
